Are you looking to add Google Maps to your website? Great! I'm going to show you the easiest way to do this that I know of in this quick tutorial video.
Now, adding Google Maps to your website can be great because—why? Everybody uses Google Maps to find businesses and shop locally. Having one right on your website can just make it easy for people to get a sense of where your business is and potentially even use that, especially if they're on their phone, to go right to your store.
So I'm going to show you how to quickly and easily do this and share the steps, plus link to the resources below so you know what to do. There is one complicated component of this, but don’t worry—I'm going to show you one of the best resources I've seen for making this happen.
First, what does a Google Maps embed look like? You can see here, this is the Google Maps embed I’ll show you how to add. It marks your store location and lets people zoom in/out, switch to satellite view, or expand the map. On mobile, they can tap to open the location in Google Maps.
By the way, I'm Keegan with Mighty Sites. If you don’t have a website for your business or you're overpaying for one, click the link below. It’s only $9 a month for a clean, professional website where you can embed things like this easily. But if you're using another platform, I’ll show you how to do it too.
You’ll start by going to Elfsight. If you don’t have an account, create one—it's free. They give you options to add new “apps” (or widgets) to your website. Choose the Google Maps app. You won’t need a developer for this, as it's all done through the interface.
When you’re ready to install it, just click the install button. It’s free on the basic plan. If you need more widgets or views, they offer affordable plans starting at just $5–10/month. For example, $10/month gives you 50,000 views, 9 widgets, and 3 projects.
To install a widget, just copy the provided code and paste it into your website’s HTML. They also offer tutorials for different platforms if you're not using Mighty Sites.
Now here’s the one tricky part—you’ll need a Google Maps API key. Elfsight links to an article with detailed steps for creating one. Just follow the instructions, create the account, and you’ll get your key. It’s really just a line of text you’ll copy from Google.
Once you have the API key, paste it into your Elfsight widget, click apply, and you’re done. Now your site will show a nice embedded Google Map with your business info.
That’s it! Straightforward, simple, and easy—the best way to do it. I’ve linked to the article and the API key setup in the description below. If you liked this video, give it a like and subscribe. And give Mighty Sites a try if you’re looking to build a nice website for cheap. Catch you in the next video!
