This video is for you. We're going to break it down into five simple, easy-to-follow steps for generating more local leads for your professional painting business. But first, why is advertising so important in the first place? Well, as a professional painter, you want to keep your name out there as much as possible, right? You're going to generate referrals, you're going to get people interested in you, but how do you close the deal? That's by representing yourself really well with a simple, professional website, a basic but robust online presence on social media, and making sure that you're found when people search for a painting business or they think they've heard of your business before. So they search you and they're trying to find you. That's why marketing is so important. It actually helps you close the deal because as you get referred or as you're top of mind for people, now they go look you up and they see this brilliant representation of who you are and what you can do for them. So let's break that down into five steps so that you can generate more consistent leads for your painting business. Let's get started.

Alright, step one, you need to have a great portfolio of your work. That means before-and-after shots, customer testimonials, and even some videos of your team in action with before and after of what it was like with your painting project. Share these on your website, social media, and even in local community groups or Facebook groups. This is what people want to see first and foremost. They want to see before and after. If they hire you, how are you going to transform their old room or house or trim or whatever it is from what it was before to what it is after? Showcase how you do a brilliant job. Create that portfolio on an ongoing basis. Every single job you do, you should take before and after photos and videos. You're going to thank yourself later.

Step two, optimize your online presence for local searches. So, on your website, if you're using a Mighty Sites website, go into that Services section, go into that About section, and use keywords like "best painter in your town." Right? So, "best painter in North New York." These things are going to help your website pop up when people search for them. Now, you don't want to just keyword stuff your website. That's not what I'm suggesting. But the mistake that many people make is they just put, "We're a painting business." Well, that's nice, but why don't we make it really clear for Google and say, "I'm a painting business in this town. This is where I do the bulk of my customers. I go to these towns around me." Be clear and specific about what it is you're actually doing and where you're actually doing it. Don't leave anything ambiguous or unclear for Google or the search engines or potential customers. Write it right on your website, what you do and where you do it.

Number three, partner up. Collaborate with local hardware stores, interior designers, or real estate agents. Partnerships mean more referrals, and referrals mean more business. And you can offer to return the favor, right, and refer people back to those same interior designers, real estate agents, hardware stores, so they can complete their projects. Right? So, it's going to be a win-win situation for you and for them. But partnerships are a key part of growing a local business, especially in the service industry. And those businesses are going to be just as interested as you are in figuring out ways to drive more referrals for their business. So, partner up, pick up that phone, call them, text them, drop them an email, grab coffee with them, and talk about how you can partner together to drive referrals back and forth.

Now, encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews. A great review on your Google Business Profile, people trust that as much as a recommendation from a personal friend. It's that powerful. Now, here's the other benefit: when you have more reviews and consistent reviews on your Google Business Profile, it also means that your business is going to bump up and come up more often in local searches. So, it's a win-win situation for you. You look great online, and your online reputation showcases these five-star reviews with great comments. Google recognizes that and says, "Well, people really like this business. Let's pop them up in the search engine more often when people are looking for a painting business." I can't stress enough how important it is to get an ongoing, steady flow of Google reviews for your business.

Last but not least, don't be shy. Invest in some advertising. It's not nearly as expensive as you think anymore, especially when it comes to a local Facebook ad. You can draw a radius and say, "10 miles, 20 miles around your town." Say, "Just show my Facebook ad for painting services in this area." Here's the budget I'm willing to spend, so you can just set the total budget so it doesn't go over what you want to spend a month or a week on the ad, and then just run an ad for your painting business. It helps keep you top of mind, link it to your simple, professional website from Mighty Sites. There's a lead form right on there. It'll help you generate consistent leads for your business.
