Why does this matter for a pressure washing business? Well, here's the thing: when somebody is looking for a Pressure Washing Service or even if they've been referred to your business or have heard of your business, the first thing they're going to do is they're going to whip out that smartphone out of their pocket, and they're going to search "pressure washing" or "pressure washing near me," right? And they're going to look at the results that come up, and that's what's going to influence who they actually go with. If you're not in those results or if you're in those results but your presence doesn't look very good, you're not going to have a great chance of turning that potential customer into a customer of your pressure washing business. Okay, the first tip, and I can't stress this enough, set up a Google business profile for your business and fill that thing out completely. It helps people find your location, your contact info, see reviews from happy customers, see photos of your work, see photos of your team, answer frequently asked questions, see what services or products you're offering. Fill out your Google business profile completely because, guess what, that's your online business card that Google references for information about your business and when to bring you up. If you don't have a profile or your profile is not filled out completely, Google's not going to have the information it needs to bring up your business for the right pressure washing searches. So the first thing you need to do, just go to Google business profile, it's easy to set up, follow the steps, and boom, now you're on the Google Maps. So, that's your number one thing, set it up, fill it out, get it verified, it's going to help you if you keep it up to date, show up more often in the search results.

Step number two, encourage your customers to now leave reviews on your Google business profile. Positive reviews are like gold stars on that online business card, which is your Google business profile. They tell new customers, "Hey, this business is awesome." And guess what? At the same time, Google likes businesses that have high star ratings and that get consistent reviews from customers because it tells Google that that's a thriving business. So after you finish your job, ask your customer to leave a review. You can even send a follow-up email or text with a link to make it super easy for them. Getting high-quality reviews, getting comments on those reviews, and getting reviews consistently is going to boost your SEO for your pressure washing business.

And tip number three, sprinkle local keywords into your website content. If you are in Austin, Texas, make sure that your website mentions "pressure washing in Austin" or "Austin, Texas pressure washing services." When you fill out your Mighty Sites website, right, the Mighty Sites simple, professional $9 a month website, when you fill that out, make sure that the copy that you're using doesn't just say "pressure washing." Be specific because you're trying to optimize for local keywords. So say "pressure washing in Austin, Texas," mention those terms a lot on your site because it's going to give more relevant context for Google to know, "Oh, here's the website that's all about pressure washing services in Austin, Texas." Right, it makes sense for your customer and for Google too. So think of the keywords you add as little magnets to help pull in customers because they let Google know that that's who you are. Now, just remember, don't overdo it. You shouldn't make it awkward and put it over and over again. Too much can make Google think that you're just keyword stuffing. So you want to use it contextually. But make sure, instead of just saying "pressure washing," you're saying "pressure washing Austin, Texas."

Tip number four, you need to make sure that you're listed in local business directories, and that your name, address, phone number, and website are all consistent. So that means directories like Facebook listings, Google business profile, Manta, Yelp. Make sure that your business is listed in all of those, and make sure that those four things, again, name, address, phone number, and website, are all consistent. What that does is it sends signals to Google from all these different websites telling it that your business is legitimate and here's the accurate information about your business. That sends trust signals to Google to say, "That business is who I think they are, and it has accurate information about it all around the web." So, let's bring that business up more often. If you're signed up for Mighty Sites, go ahead and click on the Boost option. It's only $10 a month more, and we'll take care of all those listings for you to help improve your search results. If not, consider using a third-party service that will go around and clean them up for you. Or you can always go manually and list your business in all those. But remember, you're going to have to keep them up to date too because they do change.

And last but not least, tip number five, partner with other local businesses. Maybe there's a local hardware store or Home Services business that can refer customers to you. The reason that matters is because you want a link on their website that links to your website. Building those local backlinks will create more business for you and boost your local SEO because it's associating links to your business from other local businesses. So, Google is saying, "Okay, I trust that that's a pressure washing business that is legitimate in town, and that's their website because these other local businesses link to it." That's one of the ways that Google identifies and trusts. So, partner with local businesses and ask them for a link on their website to your website. It's going to help boost your local SEO.
