But first, why is SEO so important, especially local SEO for a lawn care business? Well, let's think about it. The first thing somebody does when they want to solve that problem, which is have somebody help mow their lawn, what are they going to do? They're going to turn to Google, of course, and they're going to search for lawn care business near me, right? And the more often that you show up for lawn care, landscaping service, lawn mowing business in my town or near me, the more often you show up, and the higher you show up, the better chance you have of that person clicking on you and calling or submitting a lead form to your business, right? So, let's get started on the simple tips that you can use to help elevate your business so you can capture more of that new business for your lawn care.
All right, first up, let's cut right to the chase. Google business profile, it's like putting a sign in the digital world on the busiest street in the digital world. Make sure your business is listed, create a Google business profile, we'll put the link down below. Make sure all your business information is listed, make sure it's up to date, think of it as your online business card. Add your services, add your hours that you're working, put some snazzy photos of the lawns you've transformed, of your team, of your equipment, of yourself. It's all about showing potential clients what you can do. It's going to help Google understand who you are as well, giving you a better chance to come up.
Next, go to your Mighty Site's website and sprinkle some local keywords throughout your website. If you're in Springfield, use phrases like Springfield lawn care or best lawn mowing in Springfield. This should be in your site's content, it helps Google understand, hey, we know where they mow lawns, right? CU, they're telling us very clearly they mow lawns in Springfield. It's that easy and simple and straightforward to start adding keywords to your small business website, especially your mighty site.
Reviews are going to be gold for you. Encouraging happy customers to leave a Google review not only shows you're great at what you do to others, but it helps boost your visibility on search engines. Next up, build partnerships with other local businesses. Maybe it's the nearby garden center, and when they link to your website, it's like a local shout out. That's going to help Google understand that you're a prominent business. That is called a backlink. The more other businesses that link to your website, and don't be afraid to link to theirs as well, it's going to help you climb up the local search results because Google's like, oh, all these other local businesses linked to them, that must be a good business to bring up when somebody's looking for lawn care.
Lastly, make sure your website is mobile-friendly. If you're on Mighty Subs already, you don't have to worry about that. It's super easy to use on mobile. Most folks are going to look you up on their phones, so make sure it's a smooth, easy to navigate site. It's going to make a big difference. That's why I always advocate a simple, professional website. They're there to get your contact information, learn a little bit about you, submit a lead form. Make it easy for them to do that, especially on mobile.
And there you have it, that's your starting point for local SEO success. Remember, local SEO is a marathon, not a sprint.
