Hi everyone, and welcome to today's video. So today, I will show you how to create a one-page website for a lawn care business. So if you own landscaping, a lawn mowing business, or anything like that, this video's for you. It's going to walk through the step-by-step process. And I'm going to build a website for this company, Total Proscape, to show how easy it is to create a simple professional website for your business.
Why Lawn Care Businesses Need a Website
Now here's the thing. Without a website, and many companies don't have websites, it makes it more challenging for people to find your business, especially if somebody wants to refer your business to somebody else. That's a big way, that word of mouth. Many times, what they'll do is they'll text the link to your website, right? To their friend, say, Hey, you're looking for lawn care.
This is the company you should use, right? They, they do my law and things like that. And other ways is if somebody's, you know if somebody searches for your name, something like this will come up. But suppose I go here and search for, you know, lawn care near me, which is most often what people are going to search for on Google. In that case, you're going to see it's going to be those with websites and especially websites linked to their Google business profile that will be the businesses that come up, right? And even when I scroll down, it's not Facebook pages that I get here. It's all these different websites linked to additional lawn mowing and lawn care businesses near me. So when you don't have a website, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. When people try to refer you, remember to use the name of your business, your website is your online business card.
And so it's essential to have that. And then if you do any mailers, like a, a business card, like an actual physical business card, or you do a brochure or something like that, you, you want to put somewhere online where people can go visit next, you want to say, Just Google me. Hopefully, you will find my Facebook page. Those, that's tough. That's different from where people want to put your website address on your business card, brochures, and other things. So when people think of you next or look like, " Oh, okay, this, I want to hire this company. They click, type in that website address, and go to your website, right? There are a ton of reasons and a ton of advantages to having a simple website for your business. So especially if you have a lawn mowing business, something like this, you know, can help them.
I searched their name, and they were going to come up. But other than that, it's going to be tough to find them maybe or challenging to refer them and have other people see them because, you know, that's a, an accessible name to maybe forget or you know, that somebody says, Oh, I know so and so recommended a company. Still, I don't remember. They didn't have a website. So it's tough to find them. It's all about just making your online business card. You must have one. So I'm going to show how to make a simple one page website for this business that seems like a great business. But they, you know, have 17 five-star reviews. That's so awesome. And so that's a business that deserves to give more customers. A website would be a great tool to help them do that. I'm going go over here, and I'm going to go to Mighty Sites, which is an excellent platform for building one-page, local business.
Launching The Lawn Care Business One Page Website Template
And there are a couple of things. So I'm just going to type in lawn care. There's a lawn care template, and there are templates for all types of different local businesses. And then there's a landscaper template too. I could go either way with this company. They do lawn mowing, lawn care, and they do, you know, do other things too. So they do, like, they lay down, so things like that. So they do some landscaping as well. I could use either template. Just for this one, I'm. I'll use the lawn care template to get started with that. So the first thing I do is type in the company name Total Proscape. And again, if I have any questions, I can chat right here during the process. Somebody will answer me or hopefully get back to me in a reasonable time if I contact them if I struggle with going through it, or I can jump over to mighty sites.com and send a message to them that they're pretty quick about getting back.
So total Proscape is the name. Let's see the location. So again, even here, right? I don't know the area on here, so it's tough for me to see if I'm a potential customer. Where exactly is this business, right? Let's check their Facebook page and see if I can find it that way. So they're in Brighton, Colorado. So I'm going to type in the Brighton, Colorado type of business here. It is a service business. Mowing lawns or doing landscaping is a service you provide to people. That's a service you can do for people and click continue. And so, just like that, that's how easy this platform is. The website's going to be generated for me. So this is a website generator, and I'll move this so you can see, and I'll scroll around, but it creates a simple professional website template for my business. So you can see as I scroll through now, just like that, I've got a template to work from, and that's why this is, I think, the easiest one-page website builder on the market is now I can scroll through, and I can, I can create the rest of my website from here.
Editing the One Page Website Template
So I'm going to, I'm going to look over here, and you know, of course, they're probably going to want their Facebook page linked because after people do find them, want them to come to them. So I can click on the update section, and I can just put the link to Facebook there, save it, close it, and you can see now my Facebook link is there. Let's see if they do, so they do have an email address. That's probably how what they use for customers to contact them. So update the section, update the location, and paste their email address. I'm going to show the email on the site. Save close. There we go. Now people can get in touch in a couple of ways. There's Facebook, and now they can see my email address too. For this updated location, it doesn't look like they put a phone number anywhere. I don't see that here, and I don't think I saw it on their Google business profile. Let's check back there and see too. I'll call and see if that phone number, so it is hidden.
So I won't put the phone number on there because maybe they don't or don't want their phone number. That's fine. That, oh, here it is, it's right here. So here's their phone number. Perfect. So they do publish their phone number, no problem. I just wouldn't put it there if they don't typically. So save that close now. There we go. Now we're starting to look pretty good here. We've got the location, so we know the city they serve, their Facebook page, email them and call them. Great. So this is getting easier for a customer to contact them. Let's see. They do have a logo. Not all businesses do, but I saw that on Facebook. Yep. So here's a logo right here. I right-click and save that as the Proscape logo, download that, and then I'll move over to the update section and add the logo.
There we go. Now we've got the logo on there. Save that. You can see the logo. Now I can make it bigger, or I can make it smaller. You know, it just depends on the logo's look and your preference. You can also click on this right here if you want to crop it, So maybe I'll crop it a little bit here just because of the way this logo looks. It might be a little nicer on the site if I crop it. So I'm just going to crop it like that and let that load look. Save. There we go. Now, I like that look. It's a little bit longer, it's a matter of preference, and they might have a different version with a different color background and things like that.
Adding your lawn care business logo
So, you know, it just depends. Please make it a little bit bigger. Now save the logo close. So there we go. So now we've got that looking pretty sharp. If I scroll down, this is an excellent main image. Let's see what types of photos they have. Let's see if they have any pictures on their Google business profile. I didn't think so, but let's just see if we see any here. See photos. Sometimes there could be a nice photo of the truck or things like that. So this is the back of the car and some work that they do, which isn't harmful to include that, but sometimes if there's a nice photo of the, you know, the business of the truck or things like that, it can be, it can be excellent.
So like, here's the, here's the truck you can see. But I don't see a side view because people may recognize when they come to the website if they've seen the truck driving around or things like that. So sometimes I like to include that, but I didn't see any pictures that jumped out at me that I would want to use to replace anything so far. These are high-quality images. And again, with Mighty Sites, all of these images are pre-licensed for you to use. So they're all included for you already. So you don't have to do anything. You don't have to, you know, get your images. You kind of look and see if there are images you want to use; if not, you know, if you're happy with those, just use the ones you have.
So let me go over here to check in on photos and see what they've had here. Maybe there's one. These could be the same that were on the Google profile too. You know, friendly, nice pictures of their work too. But I need images that I'd necessarily replace the ones on there with others. That's why we link to the Facebook page. People know to go and look for more photos. That seems pretty good. Here's, you know, here's a nice one of the truck. I could use that. I could use that here. But again, it's a, you know, not, not necessary there. So what I'll do next is look. We are a lawn care service business, so that's nice. But we also talk about some of that stuff down here.
Some of the services are specific services. They can, of course, click on this and edit if they don't do any of these things or if they want to add something, they do or write anything here. It's super easy to point and click and edit. But if I jump back up here, I'm going to do something in this section, knowing that they have such great reviews to continue highlighting how great this business is. I don't know why that back doesn't work for me, but seeing that they have 17 Google reviews, let's check these out. I've been searching for an affordable, good-quality lawn care specialist, and I found the guy. He's very professional. I appreciate the great attitude too. I recommend him. So I mean, that is awesome, right? That is just a fantastic review by Victoria here. So I'm going to jump in here, and I'm going to make some edits to this. Instead of saying that right there, I will post in the testimonials.
Adding Customer Testimonials To Your Website
So I'm going to do this, and then this was by Victoria and Victoria Robles. So she's a big fan of this lawn care business and has posted a public review. So it's okay if I do this here. I'm going to. I'm going to put this in bold so it stands out, then save it and see what it looks like on this one page website. Oh, so if you see, if you notice when you copy-paste over like that, click on this, and that'll make it stand out in the background. Yep. And I must do it for this part too. Just click on this little text after you've highlighted it, and now there we go. And I'd love to see this in bold too. That would look niceāit kind of makes that stand out. Yeah, there we go.
So that's nice, and you know, why not add another one? Those testimonials look good. It's always, for, let's highlight for people how, how fantastic this, this business is. I do a super job on my landscaping. Punctual, polite, and very flexible. I need some excellent preparation for you, and I did everything to my satisfaction. We're hiring again in a heartbeat. So again, you know, these are, these are super testimonials. So, this person runs a great business. So let's highlight those things so they can get more customers when they advertise and people visit their website. So this is Steven Steven's. That's Steven right here like this. And again, I'm going to do all this. I'm just going to do this and remove this styling that was there. Make it bold, put that underneath, and Save it close. Let's check that out.
Okay, yeah, now there are some excellent testimonials for people to read as soon as they come to the site. So, starting to look pretty good. The contact information's there, the logo. As they scroll down, they can see some excellent reviews. I'm going to update this section for the contact because I bet you, just like they did in the other section, they probably want people to call them. So I'm switching over from that contact linking actions to actions. And I'm going to put on click to call, and I will confirm and save that. So now you'll see when somebody's viewing this because many people will visit this website on a smartphone. When they click on this, it'll call them, right? So when they're, when they're visiting this website on a smartphone, they click on that, it'll contact the business, which is nice.
Writing Your About Us Section
So the about us section, let's see. They had a nice about us right up. Yeah, so this is super cool. Total Proscape was started during Covid in April 2020 when I was let go from my job and stayed busy to make some money for bills. I started cutting grass. And from their Grood link side and other big projects, total Proscape will continue to grow and, in time, hopefully, help others stay busy in good or bad times. So that's just awesome. That's somebody out there creating a small business, which is the story of many small business owners doing an excellent job of building something from the ground up when they need to. So let's add that in here for many years. So we now know for service for, since Covid began, let's just put their story here.
So Total Proscape. So now we've got a little about the story of where they came from and how they started the business. Do the same thing. Just remove any styling. And then it's still nice to include some of this detail. This is an excellent copy and adds a little bit extra to it. So if we look at the about us section, you know that now we've got there, their story is included here too. And then just some extra sales copy as well. So now the site's looking pretty good, pretty filled out as far as, you know, looking like an excellent one page website for this local business, for this lawn care business. So now I'm going to check out our available colors and see if something makes sense. So they've got that green in their logo. Using a green like this would be nice. We could also use colors like that. Let's see what other colors populate. There are always more colors being added to this too. So, you know, maybe green and green would be lovely. It is a lawn care business. So let's switch it up to that.
Editing Theme Colors
They've got that forest green template here going on too. So it creates a friendly, nice theme. And we can, we can go to stop editing here, and you can just see now, now those other buttons are gone. Got a lovely simple professional website here about this business now that they can use to gain, advertise and promote their business and showcase everything that you know, everything that they do, and everything they do for customers. So that is how you build a website for a lawn care business. It's super simple and easy, and straightforward to get started. And now, this business can get out there and use this to help advertise and grow.
