How to Make a Simple Website for Costume Store - SUPER EASY!

Once you've registered an account for a free trial, the very first thing is going to ask you to do is to search for your market at the top. We have hundreds of different markets to choose from for different small businesses, solopreneurs, and people with various side hustles. We are adding more markets every single week, so I'm gonna head to the top and I'm gonna quickly go ahead and search for my market: costume store.

Awesome, there is a costume rental service template as well, but for this one, I'm going to be focusing specifically on a costume store business. It asks a few basic details about our costume store so it can generate a simple website for our business.

I'm gonna go ahead and put in my city and my state's origin for my business, and it doesn't matter where your business is located in the world, you can enjoy the Mighty Sites service. We have happy users from all around the globe. Let's go ahead and change the type of business from restaurant to service. Actually, let's go ahead and put retail, so we can include our trading hours and go ahead and click on continue.

Now, the beauty of Mighty Sites is we pre-written all the content for you as a guideline. Of course, we've also pre-selected all the images; they all really high quality, as you can see. They're completely free to use; however, I'm sure you want to showcase all the amazing costumes you have in your store on your website. So today, I'm going to be showing you how to make some minor changes on the platform, giving you a little bit of a look and feel of how it works and how simple it is to use. You don't need to know coding, you don't need to have any web professional development skills, and you certainly don't need to hire a web professional to help you with this either. You can do it all yourself; it's super simple, so today I'm going to be showing you just that.

Let's go ahead and click on the first section at the top. Go ahead and put in our company email address. I want to make sure that email address is displayed on my website, so I'm going to go ahead and check the box. Let's go ahead and pop in our phone number, and that is click-to-call, by the way. Now, I'm going to go ahead and put in my physical location, my street's address. The great thing about that street address, when your website is live, and your customers click on it, it will automatically take them to Google maps to get directions to your physical location. Let's head on over to update social links; over here, you can put in the various social media platforms your business is active on. Icons will be displayed at the top of your website as well as the bottom. I'm now going to go ahead and update my logo. If you don't have a logo yet, I recommend you check out canva.com; the website has lots of great free options.

The website logo's been uploaded. If you want to amend it, maybe crop it, zoom in, filter it, or add any text to it, decorated, you can click on this little pencil over here and make a few minor adjustments to it. Over here, you can make it bigger and smaller on the right once it's been uploaded. Now, with Mighty Sites as well, we've pre-selected all the colors for you. If you don't want to use this color, maybe you have completely different colors for your branding, your business cards, your logos, and you want to change it, no color coding necessary. It's super simple; click on the little paint bucket on the bottom right-hand corner, go through the various color palettes available for you to use. Awesome!

Now, for each section you want to amend, click on 'update section' underneath it. Content can all be amended; the button can link to various places. All you need to do is click on 'choose link.' You can link to another website if need be, or you can link to an action like click-to-call, directions, click-to-email. Otherwise, you could upload a PDF file with your current catalog or current promotions or deals you are offering. For each section that has an image, go ahead and click on 'update image,' browse your device, and upload your own images. Otherwise, search through the photo library; hundreds of images to choose from, all completely free to use. Play around with the keywords a little bit; search for different keywords and see what pops up. Awesome!

For each section you want to make changes, maybe make some amendments to that content, click on 'update section,' and work your magic. Awesome, let's move along.

And this last section over here is where you can put in your trading hours. Click on 'update hours,' put in your trading hours for your business, and they will be conveniently located in this section over here. Now, if you have a custom domain for your business, go ahead and click on 'connect your domain.' Sorry, do you have a domain? Go through the various steps and linking it; it's really easy. If you don't have a domain yet, maybe you recently launched your business, go ahead and click on 'want a new domain' because you can now purchase your domain by the Mighty Sites platform.
