So, once you've joined the platform, the first thing it's going to ask you to do, once you've registered an account, is to search for your markets. We have hundreds of different markets to choose from for different small businesses, solopreneurs, and people with various side hustles, and we are adding more markets every single week. So, usually, I'd scroll to the top in this video, but right now, I can see my market over here. So, I'm going to go ahead and select the author templates. A few basic details about our author business, so it can generate a simple website for us. I'm going to go ahead and put in my company name, which is my name specifically. Let's go ahead and put in the city and the state's origin. I'm located in it. It doesn't quite matter which state or country your business is located in. You can enjoy the Mighty Sites platform. We have happy users from all around the globe.
Let's go ahead and change this type of business from restaurant to service for this one and go ahead and click on continue. Awesome! And look at that! Mighty Sites has literally generated a simple website for my author business in not even a minute. Let's take a closer look at what it's come up with together. Now, the beauty of Mighty Sites is we pre-written all the content for you as a guideline. Of course, we've pre-selected all the images as well. They're all really high quality, as you can see, and they're completely free to use. However, I'm sure you've got some amazing images of the beautiful books you have created, and you want to showcase them on your website. You can do that; it's super simple. So today, that's exactly what I'm going to be showing you. I'm going to be walking you through each section in this video tutorial, make my way through, so you can have a little bit of look and feel of how the platform works and how simple it is to use. You don't need to know coding; you don't need to be a web developer, and you, Susan, you don't need to hire a web professional to help you with this either. So, let's get cracking.
I'm gonna click on the first section at the top, go ahead and put in my email address as well as my phone number. For now, I want to make sure this box is checked to display my email address on my website. Let's go ahead and put in our phone number, if you wish to. Our address, I'm going to go ahead and leave that off because I don't have a physical location for my author business. My books are shipped all over the world, so I don't really want my address displayed on my website. Let's head on over to update Social Links. Over here, you can put in the various social media platforms your business, your author business, is active on. The icon will be the icons will be displayed at the top as well as the bottom of your Mighty Sites website. There we go! So your potential customers and people interested in your work can give you a follow, get some engagement going, and see what you are up to.
Let's head on over to update logo. Now, if you don't have a logo yet, that's completely okay. I recommend you check out canva.com. Lots of free, great options on the website. I'm gonna just go ahead and upload the Mighty Sites logo here. But perhaps you do have a logo for your author business. Awesome! Let's go ahead and crop that ever so slightly by clicking on the pencil. You can add filters, frames, rotate it, zoom in, flip it, etc. Just go ahead and re-upload that one. Excellent, the upload has now been complete. Let's go ahead and save that. We can make it bigger and smaller, so I'm gonna go ahead and do that. Excellent, and move along.
Now with Mighty Sites as well, we pre-selected all the colors used throughout your website for you. Perhaps these colors don't quite gel with your branding on your books, your logo, your business cards, and you want to change it. You don't need to know color coding. All you need to do is just click on the little paint packet on the bottom right-hand corner, go through the various color palettes available that could be suitable for your book branding as well. Maybe you want everything to match, so I'm going to go ahead and select this one for now. It looks really great and head on over to the next section, update image. Now over here, you can upload your artwork for your books, otherwise browse, browse your device, and upload them. Although I searched through the photo library, hundreds of images to choose from, all completely free to use. Mighty Sites will automatically search for "author", but you can change the keywords a little bit and search for various other words and just see what pops up. Maybe "book" or "books" if you're not using your own images. Let's just go ahead and try this one for now. That looks great.
Let's head on over by contains. Now over here, you can change the title, subtitle to suit your business needs. The button currently says "get in touch", which I'm happy with. So I'm going to go ahead and choose my link. You can link to another website if need be, maybe a great option to link to your eBay or your Amazon where people can purchase your books. Otherwise, link to another part of your Mighty Sites website, like the lead form at the bottom. Great option, which I'm going to get to in just a second. Otherwise, an action might click to call, directions, click to email, which I'm going to go ahead and link to. Otherwise, you could upload a PDF file, maybe a little preview, first chapter of your book. That is a great idea.
Over here, again, pre-written content. The button can link to various places, maybe again linking it to your Amazon or wherever your book is available, maybe a pre-ordering link. We've now made our way to the "about us" or "About Me" section. Over here, you can put a little bit more details on how you got into being an author, when your love of books started, what kind of genre do you write books on. Is it fiction or non-fiction? Maybe a great photo of yourself here in the About Me section. Over here, the Services section, you can put a little bit more details. Maybe you offer other services like ghostwriting or book proposals or content editing. Otherwise, just put in some fantastic photos of your beautiful book. The last section is the Lead Form. The button automatically links to the Lead Form, which is fantastic. So, when somebody clicks on "get in touch", the form pops up. You can change the title, subtitle, your thank you message, your name, email, phone number, and message. The Lead Form will be sent straight to the email address you used to register your Mighty Sites account.
